Cricket is my passion & career and I aspire to represent my country. I am working towards improving and acquiring newer skills under guidance from my coach Mr Irfan Sait in KIOC to compete at the highest level.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Coaching stint under Greg Chappell
In 2008, I was selected for a coaching program under Greg Chappell at the Future Cricket Academy Rajasthan.
T 20 Cricket With the advent of T20, I worked on my game and hold the proud distinction of scoring an unbeaten 268 of 85 balls against under 19 Sri Lankan side in Colombo in Feb 2009, Also I made two more centuries in Sri Lanka.
After Sri Lanka tour, I got the opportunity to represent Bangalore Brigadiers in the KPL [Karnataka Premier League] T 20 competition. In KPL I won the prestigious awarded Man of the match for the contribution of 81 runs out of 49 balls & maximum sixes in the match
Recently, I scored 192 off 66 balls which made headlines in the newspapers.
State League cricket I made my league debut when I was 15 and have the honor of scoring a Century on my debut. Later, I played in the premier 1st division league and scored two centuries besides other honors.
Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 I represented Karnataka State under 15 & Rajasthan state in the under 17 and returned back to Bangalore following year to represent Under 19. I was the second highest scorer in the district after Manish Pandey.
Grade cricket I represented Bangalore district in under 13 category and I was part of the President eleven team.
I undertook International tours to Sri Lanka in 2003 and 2004 and in 2008.
This was followed by a tour to England where we played 8 matches and won the series 7-1. This tour proved invaluable for me with respect to getting experienced in playing in seaming conditions in England. I did pretty well on this tour finishing The third highest scorer in the tournament and took crucial wickets with my off spinners.
I also toured Australia with KIOC. my most cherished memory was being coached by former Australian captain Graham Yallop in Austarlia.
INITIATION INTO CRICKET
I joined Karnataka Institute of Cricket in Bangalore when I was 10 years old in 2000. In 2001, I was part of the team that toured Singapore and Malaysia. I was awarded the best fielder in the tournament and my first award was a pair of gloves which I still possess and cherish.
In the same year, I was also awarded as “Jammy” of the tournament in the then prestigious Jammy cup [ named after the legend Rahul Dravid] for my all round performance with a special mention on fielding.
